Greetings Rascal Families!
Rich’s Rascals 100th Day Anniversary is THREE days away….Tuesday, February 12 (barring any snow days)! 100 day projects are due. This day will go down in
history! Tune in and listen to all the
details about the drapery treatment that will decorate our classroom door? The design is very meaningful to us….digits, 1-0-0 in oversized, bold font!!! Teachers, students and volunteers will enjoy
stepping through the cut-out zeros as they enter our classroom Tuesday. Each one of us will rename ourselves, “Zero
the Hero”!
Our Valentine Friendship Day is going to
happen on Thursday. Kindergartners
are ready to spread the friendship. Many
kinders have finished their Valentine mailboxes. Names
need to be on each mailbox. At home, they’ve been working on their
Valentine cards for weeks and can’t wait to give them to their kinder
friends. Send “V”-Day cards and mailboxes to school on Thursday. Remember to dress in red..
HOMEWORK will be assigned
this weekend. Rich’s Rascals are to
complete addressing their Valentine cards and mailboxes. This is an assignment all will do, cross our
Hearts!!!
Have you heard about the work
we’ve been doing during Math Workshop ? We’ve been focusing on skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s; with a special emphasis on 10 to 100!
You’re
going to love the way we wrote our numbers from 10 to 100 on our 100th
Day vests! Stamping was fun, fun, FUN! Ask us how many stamps in each section...
It's no surprise that numbers with zero in
them are our favorites!!! The zero connection elicits a lot of talk
about our 100th day of school. Zero chatting goes on and on… Yes, if you think Ben Franklin made his mark
in history, look closely at the 100 hundred dollar bill we will be sending home
on 100th Day. Do you
recognize the famous Kindergartner?
Next week, we will complete
Unit 6, “My Shadow”, in the Imagine It
reading series. Reviewing the letters/sounds: Jj,
Ff, Xx, Zz and Uu are in the
plans. Add the new sight word all to your list of words to read. Practice your sight words and read your
decodables every night.
Read your “hearts” out, Rascals
!!!!!
Celebrate 100 Days of
School!!!
June
