This is the second year we've been participating in the writing program, Handwriting Without Tears. The language for forming letters and numbers is simple: big line, little line, big curve, little curve. The activities are fun and very kindergarten friendly. Following is a list of some of the many hands-on materials students have been using: flip crayons, small pencils, wooden pieces to build letters, numbers and Mat Man, capital letter cards, CD's, slate chalkboards... This program helps children develop their writing skills through multisensory play-based instruction.
