Welcome Back, Rascal Families!
I am thrilled to hear you all survived Hurricane Sandy. Though there was little damage, it certainly shortened our week. Days in kindergarten are passing quickly. November is here already!
Election excitement is the spirit among Rich’s Rascals. It all started with the creation of our very own voting booth. Mrs. Kimionakis (former kinder student Andrew’s Mom) donated a refrigerator box. Rich’s Rascals will be decorating the exterior on Friday. We plan to share our booth with first and second grade students as well. It is a collaborative project, indeed!

Spreading the news….The Voting Booth has been placed in the Family Center , renamed in honor of the 2012 presidential election, the Election Center . We love to rally!
Since we’ve been learning about the election process let’s present Show and Tell on Monday as Show Up and Vote. We can’t wait to cast our ballot behind closed curtains in our very own Voting Booth…. Kids’ votes count! They have a history of accurately predicting the presidential election outcomes. Tune in! We’ll report the results to you on Monday. Donkey, elephant, ask your kinder????
Current events and kindergarten goals have been ongoing. We have been introduced to letters Aa through Zz. Next week’s Literacy lessons will focus on letter sounds /Ss/ and /Mm/. The new sight word we will be introduced. Ask us to show off what we have been learning!
November days will be gone before you know it…..school weeks are short this month. Again, next week is an abbreviated week… just FOUR days. Remember there is NO school for students on Tuesday, Parent/Teacher Conference Day.
In closing, I’d like to thank each and every ONE of you for meeting with me. YOU know your child best and it’s extremely helpful for me to gain your insights about your child! I am so grateful for the information you shared with me during our Parent/Teacher Conferences to date. Do you believe 100% of the Rascal Families have scheduled a conference with me? That’s something to be proud of ! I’m looking forward to meeting with you on Tuesday, November 6th!
