Welcome Back, Rascal Families!
Hope you and the Rascals had a “FUN”tastic
vacation! Learning about Dr. Seuss has
motivated us to “march” right back into the school setting. “Seuss”y activities will dominate throughout
the month. Ask us what we’ve been doing during workshop! Look at the website www.seussville.com for great resources
and games.
Math interest is at an all-time peak!!!!. The
focus has been on 2 and 3-D shapes. Our goal is to be able to name and describe the
following: square, circle, triangle,
rectangle, hexagon, cube, cone, cylinder and sphere. Be on the look-out for the shape papers.

we’ve fallen in love with: 3-D Shapes I
know!
Help your child pack a snack on Monday that is
one of the shapes we’ve been studying.
Mrs. Pearl and I are going to play “Name That Shape”. Be ready to challenge us!!!!!
More
adventures are in store for us next week.
Do you believe we are on Unit 7
of the Imagine It! Reading Program. The
theme for this unit is Teamwork. I can
say with pride, the Rascals are one great team!
They have honed their social skills, developed perseverance and have
learned the importance of working together.
Take a peek at our inquiry bulletin board. Ask us what we wrote on our helping arm/hand.
Letter names/sounds in the March plans are short
Ee (hen), Qq and Yy. Add two new
sight words to your growing list: her,
what .
March and April are roaring with exciting
happenings…..Dr. Seuss activities, budding authors, amazing readers, award
winning class books, report cards and the little GREEN THING!
Rumor has it that the little green
thing will visit Rich’s Rascals on Friday, March 15th. McRich and McPearl are ready for the green thing. The students are, too! Of course, everyone knows to wear green
on Friday, the 15th of March!
What a whimsical month it will be!
March Madness!
