Merry Greetings Rascal Families,
Sweet happenings took place on Thursday! Each one of us constructed a Gingerbread House. THANKS to all of YOU, we had oodles of edible treats to adorn each house with. A special “THANK YOU” to:
Mrs. Bautista, Mrs. Beaulieu, Mrs. Bobay, Mrs. Boulanger, Mrs. Celio, Mr. and Mrs. Crockwell, Mrs. Danis, Mr. and Mrs. Dresser, Grandmother Dresser, Mr. Eiserman, Ms. Hargreaves, Mrs. Hickey, Grandmother Hickey, Mr. Hoang, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Keyes, Mrs. McCassey, Mrs. Mulcrone, Mr. O'Leary, Mrs. Piccolo, Mrs. Podvojsky, Mrs. Rousseau, Mrs. Roy, Mrs. Somers and Mrs. Towne..
They worked at our side from start to finish on this project. It was a jolly building day for all of us!
Tis the season to be thankful… We’ve been reflecting on all the activities we’ve enjoyed throughout the year. Much discussion took place regarding favorite projects. I reminded the kinders of all the families who have helped us. Some parents have prepared materials at home as they work during the day. Others have come into the classroom to lend a helping hand. Lots of work has gone on behind and on the scenes. You could see the love and joy all over the children’s faces while discussing the special people in their lives who have generously shared their talent and time with us. We talked about the best gifts are gifts from the heart. Ask us to tell you all about it!
Plans for 2013 are underway. Beginning with the New Year the approach to Show and Tell will be new and different from what we’ve done in the past. Each child will have one week to share. Read on to find out all about it!
Beginning with the New Year, our class will be featuring a Special Child of the Week. That child will be a "Bear”y Special Student and wear a special vest, which will be provided at school. Every Wednesday, a child's name will be drawn for the following week. That child will be asked to complete a “ME Poster”. I will be sending home a note (on Wednesday of each week) informing you when it is your child's turn to be the “Bear”y Special Student. The “ME Poster” will also be sent home on the Wednesday preceding your child’s week. Stay tuned!
The child of the week will also have the opportunity to take home our classroom friend, Ted E., Jr, for an evening and write in his/her journal page about one special adventure the stuffed bear had with your child. The next day he/she can tell us about Ted E. Jr’s special visit at your home!
It’s hard to believe, but this is the last newsletter I will write in the year 2012. The year has passed quickly, leaving me with fond memories. Your children are part of them. Hope the NEW YEAR greets you and treats you with love and happiness and good purpose. Have a truly wonderful 2013!
Season’s Best Wishes!
June A. Rich
