Happy Spring,
Rascal Families!
Have you heard the news?
We will start Unit 8 in the Imagine
It Reading Series on Monday. The
theme is Ready, Set, Grow! As you know, I have requested a baby picture
of your favorite kinder for our class bulletin board, “Ready, Set, Groooooooooooow”. I know I will adore the baby pictures I
receive. Hurry and send your child’s baby picture in today.

| Guess Who???? |
At this time of the year, Kindergartners are perfect models
for the unit theme; Ready, Set, Grow! We are proud to inform you that we have been
introduced to all the letter names; and consonants and short vowel sounds for
each letter of the alphabet. Long vowel
sounds are next in the plans. The sound
of long vowel A (as in cake), along
with sight words: said, that will be the focus next week. Wow, we are ready, set and have certainly grown since 2012 days!
It is that time of year…your child’s report card is going
home on Wednesday, March 27th. For the very first time in Kindergarten
History kinders will be graded in the academic area. WHOHOO!
All children have improved since the beginning days of school. A celebration is in order. Root!
Root! Root for Rich’s Rascals!!!
There is no better time than now to sit with your child and
discuss the report card in detail. Praise your child for progress and set
goals for areas of improvement. Be
specific and set the standard! As you
know, children live up to our expectations.
A label will be sealed to the report card envelope for students and
parents to sign. Make a BIG deal out of the
student signature and your child will feel very important. Also, look for the comment paper enclosed for
parents to write a comment. I welcome
your feedback. Together, we can make a
difference! Calling all signed envelopes and comments to school by Friday,
March 29th. Keep the report card home for your files.
Due to a business event I have planned with my husband, I
will be out of school Thursday and Friday.
Mrs. Jackie Wood, a retired 3rd grade teacher will be our
substitute.
Praise
Your Kinder!!!
